This painting forms part of my brand new series, The Hydrosphere Collection, a series of 10 highly textured abstract paintings, all inspired by the oceans of our world.
Some pieces feature waves crashing on the rocks of a bay or the powerful currents of the open ocean, using a mixture of materials to give an abstract sense of the oceans and all their overwhelming beauty.
Deep Waters is a vibrant painting with lots of thick texture that sweeps across the surface of the painting in a fluid and modern style, The cool tones of blue and black have a smooth gradiation that helps to give the feel of the ocean, while the painting has also been treated with a high glossy shine that gives the sense of the surface being wet and moving as it catches the light from every angle.
This painting has been created on a thick, high quality canvas 4cm thick, has been fully varnished and sealed to make sure the colours stay strong and vibrant for years and years.
